Managing Pages

Pages are the building blocks of your website. This guide will help you create new pages, edit existing content, and organize your site structure effectively.

  1. Log in to your admin panel
  2. Click on Pages in the main navigation
  3. You’ll see a list of all your existing pages

Your site supports four different types of pages:

A regular page with customizable content blocks. This is the most common page type and gives you complete control over the layout and content.

Best for:

  • Service descriptions
  • About pages
  • Contact pages
  • Custom content

Links to another page that already exists on your site. Useful for creating multiple navigation links to the same content.

Best for:

  • Creating shortcuts in navigation
  • Referencing important pages multiple times

Links to an external website or resource.

Best for:

  • Linking to external resources
  • Directing to third-party tools
  • Connecting to social media

Links to a downloadable file (PDF, document, etc.).

  • Forms and applications
  • Policy documents

  2. Enter a Title for your page
  3. Select a Page Type from the dropdown (defaults to Standard)
  4. Configure the page based on the type you selected

Standard pages use a block-based editor that lets you build your page by adding different types of content blocks.

Available Content Blocks:

  • Banner: Large hero section with image and text
  • Intro Content: Introduction section with heading and text
  • Content: Standard text content with rich formatting
  • Cards: Display information in card format
  • Call to Action (CTA): Encourage visitor actions
  • Catholic Investing: Information about Catholic values investing
  • Councils: Display Knights of Columbus council information
  • Footer: Custom footer content
  • HTML: Add custom HTML if needed
  • Shared Content: Reuse content across multiple pages

To Add a Block:

  1. Click Add Block in the content area
  2. Select the type of block you want
  3. Fill in the block’s content
  4. Click the block options to reorder or delete

To Reorder Blocks:

The slug is the URL-friendly version of your page title.

  • Found in the sidebar when editing a page
  • Automatically generated from the page title
  • Can be customized for cleaner URLs

Example:

  • Page Title: “About My Services”
  • Auto-generated Slug: about-my-services
  • URL: yoursite.com/about-my-services

Best Practices:

  • Keep slugs short and descriptive
  • Use lowercase letters and hyphens
  • Avoid special characters
  • Don’t change slugs after the page is published (breaks existing links)

The order of pages in the admin panel determines their order in your site’s navigation menu.

To Reorder:

  1. On the Pages list, use the drag handle (⋮⋮) on the left of each page
  2. Drag pages up or down
  3. The order is saved automatically

Before publishing changes, you can preview how your page will look:

  1. Click the Preview button (eye icon) at the top of the editor
  2. Your page opens in a new tab showing the live preview
  3. Review the content and layout
  4. Close the preview and make any needed changes

When you save a page, the changes are queued for publishing:

  1. Click Save to save your changes
  2. Your site will automatically rebuild with the new content
  3. Changes typically appear within a few minutes
  1. Open the page you want to delete
  2. Click the Delete button (usually at the bottom)
  3. Confirm the deletion

Your pages support version history, allowing you to track changes over time.

To View Versions:

  1. Open a page in the editor
  2. Look for the Versions section in the sidebar
  3. Click on a version to view or restore it

This is helpful if you need to revert changes or see what content looked like previously.

  • Use descriptive, concise titles
  • Group related content together
  • Limit main navigation to 5-7 key pages
  • Use headings to break up content

  • Use bullet points for lists
  • Include clear calls to action
  • Write in an active, conversational tone
  • Optimize images before uploading (compress for web)
  • Use descriptive file names
  • Add alt text for accessibility
  • Keep file sizes reasonable (under 500KB when possible)
  • Preview pages on mobile devices
  • Ensure text is readable without zooming
  • Test all links and buttons on touch screens
